Acknowledge your emotions without judgment from "summary" of Start Where You Are by Pema Chodron

When we talk about acknowledging our emotions without judgment, what we're really talking about is being aware of what we're feeling without labeling those feelings as good or bad. It's about allowing ourselves to simply experience our emotions without trying to change them or push them away. This can be a challenging practice, especially if we're used to judging ourselves harshly for feeling certain emotions. But by learning to sit with our emotions and allow them to be just as they are, we can start to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and cultivate more compassion for our own experiences. One way to begin practicing this is by simply noticing when we're feeling a particular emotion and bringing our awareness to it. Instead of immediately reacting or trying to push the feeling away, we can take a moment to pause and really feel what it's like to be experiencing that emotion. This might involve noticing where in our bodies we feel the emotion, what thoughts are accompanying it, and how it's impacting our overall state of being.
