The journey to healing is not linear from "summary" of Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover

In the world of healing, there are no straight lines. No clear path from point A to point B. It's a journey filled with twists and turns, ups and downs. Just when you think you're making progress, something comes along to knock you off course. It's frustrating, to say the least. But it's also a reality that we must come to accept. Healing is messy. It's not a neat and tidy process that unfolds in a predictable manner. It's more like a rollercoaster ride, with moments of exhilaration followed by moments of sheer terror. It's a constant battle between moving forward and slipping back into old patterns. And that's okay. That's just how it goes. We like to think of healing as a linear progression, with each step leading us closer to our ultimate goal. But the truth is, healing is more like a dance. Two steps forward, one step back. Sometimes you have to revisit old wounds in order to truly heal them. Sometimes you have to take a few detours along the way. And that's all part of the process. It's important to remember that healing is not a destination, but a journey. And like any journey, it's bound to have its share of bumps and roadblocks. But that doesn't mean you're not making progress. It just means you're human. And that's perfectly okay. So embrace the messiness. Embrace the uncertainty. Embrace the fact that healing is not a straight line. It's a winding road that leads you to unexpected places. And in the end, that's what makes the journey worth taking.
