Healing is a process, not an event from "summary" of Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover

Healing is not something that happens overnight. It's not a quick fix or a magic pill that can make all the pain go away in an instant. It's a journey that takes time, effort, and patience. Just like a wound that needs time to heal, emotional healing also requires time to mend the broken pieces inside us. When we go through a traumatic experience, it's natural to want to rush the healing process. We want to feel better as soon as possible, to forget about the pain and move on with our lives. But healing doesn't work that way. It's a gradual process of facing our emotions, working through our pain, and allowing ourselves to heal at our own pace. Sometimes, we may feel like we're not making any progress in our healing journey. We may feel stuck, lost, or overwhelmed by the weight of our emotions. But healing is not a linear path. It has its ups and downs, its twists and turns. It's okay to take a step back, to rest, to breathe, and to remind ourselves that healing takes time. In the midst of our healing journey, we may encounter setbacks or triggers that bring back old wounds. These reminders of our past pain can be difficult to face, but they are also opportunities for growth and healing. They show us how far we've come and how much we've grown since the trauma. Throughout the healing process, it's important to be kind to ourselves, to practice self-compassion, and to seek support from loved ones or professionals. Healing is not a solitary journey. It's a collective effort of reaching out for help, of leaning on others for support, and of allowing ourselves to be vulnerable and open to healing. As we continue on our healing journey, we may find moments of peace, of clarity, and of acceptance. We may start to see the light at the end of the tunnel, to feel a sense of hope and renewal. Healing is not about erasing the past or forgetting the pain. It's about acknowledging our wounds, embracing our scars, and learning to live with our past while moving forward towards a brighter future.
