Individuality is crushed under Party rule from "summary" of Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell
In the world controlled by the Party, individuality is a dangerous thing. The Party seeks to eliminate any sense of self, any unique qualities that make a person who they are. Through constant surveillance and manipulation, the Party ensures that everyone conforms to a strict set of beliefs and behaviors. People are encouraged to report any signs of deviation from the Party line, creating a culture of fear and suspicion. Those who dare to think for themselves, to question the Party's authority, are quickly silenced. Winston, the protagonist of the story, is one such individual who struggles against the oppressive forces of the Party. The Party's ultimate goal is to create a society of mindless drones, devoid of any independent thought or action. By erasing individuality, the Party maintains complete control over its citizens. It becomes impossible for anyone to challenge the status quo, to imagine a world beyond the Party's rule. Through propaganda and censorship, the Party enforces a uniformity of thought that leaves no room for dissent. Even language itself is manipulated to limit the ways in which people can express themselves. Concepts like freedom and individuality are redefined to serve the Party's interests.- The Party's power is absolute. It crushes any spark of individuality, any hint of resistance, with ruthless efficiency. The very essence of what it means to be human – to think, to feel, to dream – is stripped away. And in its place stands the Party, a cold and calculating entity that brooks no opposition.
