Forgiveness is a powerful tool for healing from "summary" of I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

Forgiveness is a powerful tool for healing. When we hold onto anger and resentment, it only serves to harm ourselves. By letting go of these negative emotions and choosing to forgive, we create space for healing to take place. Forgiveness is not about condoning the actions of others, but rather about freeing ourselves from the burden of carrying around that pain. In my own journey, I struggled with the idea of forgiveness. It felt like I was letting the person who had hurt me off the hook. But as I began to explore the concept more deeply, I realized that forgiveness was not about them - it was about me. It was about releasing myself from the chains of anger and bitterness that were holding me back. When I finally made the decision to forgive, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. I no longer felt consumed by thoughts of revenge or retribution. Instead, I was able to focus on my own healing and growth. Forgiveness allowed me to move forward in a way that I never thought possible. I discovered that forgiveness is a process, not an event. It takes time and effort to truly let go of past hurts. But the benefits are immeasurable. When we forgive, we take back our power and reclaim control over our own lives. We become stronger, more resilient, and more compassionate. By choosing to forgive, we open ourselves up to a world of possibility. We can let go of the pain and anger that have been holding us back, and embrace a future filled with hope and healing. Forgiveness is a gift that we give to ourselves, and it has the power to transform our lives in ways we never thought possible.
