It's so easy to beat ourselves up, isn't it? We mess up, we fall short, we make mistakes, and suddenly we're our own worst critics. We say things to ourselves that we would never dream of saying to another person. We hold ourselves to impossibly high standards and then berate ourselves when we can't meet them. It's like we have this internal dialogue that is constantly telling us that we're not good enough, not smart enough, not thin enough, not successful enough. And it's exhausting.
