Mindfulness reduces reactivity and promotes wise decisionmaking from "summary" of Full Catastrophe Living (Revised Edition) by Jon Kabat-Zinn

When we cultivate mindfulness, we develop the capacity to step back from our automatic reactions to situations and events. Instead of reacting impulsively based on our habitual patterns, we create a space for wise decision-making to arise.
