The idea that vulnerability is synonymous with weakness is deeply ingrained in our society. Vulnerability is viewed as a liability, something to be avoided at all costs. We are taught from a young age to hide our vulnerabilities, to put on a brave face, and to tough it out. However, the truth is that vulnerability is not a sign of weakness. In fact, it takes great courage to be vulnerable. It takes courage to show up, to be seen, and to be honest about who we are and how we feel.
