People resist change due to fear of the unknown from "summary" of Change or Die by Alan Deutschman

It's human nature to stick to what we know, even if it's not serving us well. Change is scary because it means stepping into the unknown, a place filled with uncertainty and unfamiliarity. This existential crisis can be overwhelming, causing us to retreat into our comfort zones rather than face the discomfort of transformation.
