As someone who has struggled with mental illness throughout my life, I have come to understand the importance of taking care of oneself and showing compassion towards oneself in times of distress. When dealing with mental health issues, it is easy to neglect our own needs and push ourselves to the breaking point. However, this only exacerbates the problem and can lead to further struggles down the road. Self-care involves taking the time to prioritize our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. This can include simple acts such as getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising regularly, and engaging in activities that bring us joy.
