Letting go of attachment from "summary" of Bhagavad Gita by Stephen Mitchell

The concept of letting go of attachment is a central theme in the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna teaches Arjuna that attachment to the results of our actions leads to suffering. When we are attached to outcomes, we are not truly present in the moment. We are either dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. This attachment prevents us from experiencing life fully and hinders our spiritual growth. By letting go of attachment, we free ourselves from the chains of desire and expectation. We learn to accept whatever comes our way with equanimity. This does not mean that we become passive or indifferent. It means that we act without being attached to the fruits of our actions. We do our best and leave the rest to the divine will. This attitude allows us to act with clarity and focus, without being burdened by the fear of failure or the desire for success.
