The ultimate goal of life union with God from "summary" of BHAGAVAD GITA AS IT IS [HINDI LANGUAGE]. by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda
The goal of life is to attain union with God. This union is not just a temporary or fleeting state of being, but rather the ultimate achievement that one can strive for in their lifetime. It is the culmination of all spiritual practices and the ultimate purpose of human existence. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna explains that the ultimate goal of life is to realize our true nature as eternal spiritual beings and to reestablish our loving relationship with God. This union with God is not something that can be achieved through mere intellectual understanding or material accomplishments, but through a deep and personal connection with the Supreme Being. To attain this union with God, one must engage in devotional service, or bhakti yoga. Bhakti yoga involves cultivating a loving relationship with God through acts of devotion, such as chanting His holy names, offering prayers, and serving Him with love and humility. By dedicating all of our thoughts, actions, and emotions to God, we can gradually purify our consciousness and awaken our dormant love for Him. Through the practice of bhakti yoga, one can gradually overcome the obstacles of material existence, such as attachment, greed, and ego, and realize their true identity as a servant of God. This process of self-realization ultimately leads to the ultimate goal of life – union with God. Attaining union with God is not an easy task, and it requires sincere effort, determination, and dedication. However, the rewards of achieving this goal are immeasurable – eternal peace, happiness, and fulfillment. By making the pursuit of union with God the central focus of our lives, we can transcend the limitations of material existence and attain the highest perfection of human life.Similar Posts
