Krishna counselled him about duty from "summary" of The Bhagwat Gita by R. R. Varma
In the midst of the great battle of Kurukshetra, Arjuna found himself overwhelmed by doubt and confusion. He could not bring himself to fight against his own kith and kin, even though it was his duty as a warrior to do so. It was then that Lord Krishna, his charioteer and friend, counselled him about duty. Krishna explained to Arjuna the concept of dharma, or duty, and how it was essential for him to fulfill his duties as a warrior. He reminded Arjuna that it was his duty to fight for righteousness and justice, even if it meant fighting against his own family members. Krishna emphasized the importance of performing one's duty without attachment to the results, as it was not for Arjuna to decide the outcome of the battle.
