Psychopathology, according to Freud, is a result of conflict within the mind. This conflict arises from the clash between different parts of the psyche, particularly between the conscious and unconscious aspects of the mind. The conscious mind consists of thoughts and feelings that are readily available to us, while the unconscious mind contains repressed desires, memories, and emotions that we are not aware of. When these two parts of the mind come into conflict, it can lead to various forms of psychopathology.
