It's about truly engaging with the person who is speaking, giving them your full attention and showing that you value what they have to say. Active listening involves more than just hearing the words that are spoken - it requires you to be present in the moment, to tune in to the speaker's tone of voice and body language, and to try to understand the underlying emotions and intentions behind their words. When we listen actively, we are able to build stronger connections with others, deepen our understanding of their experiences and perspectives, and foster more meaningful and rewarding relationships.
