Our beliefs are like the software that runs the show in our lives. They determine what we think is possible or impossible, what we think we deserve or don’t, what we expect and therefore receive. Our beliefs are the blueprint for our lives. And since we’re the ones who put them there, we’re the only ones who can change them. If you want to change your life, you need to change your beliefs. You can start by questioning them. Are they really true? Or are they just things you’ve been telling yourself for so long that you’ve accepted them as truth without ever really examining them? Limiting beliefs are those sneaky, destructive thoughts that keep us stuck in the same old ruts. They’re the ones that tell us we’re not good enough, smart enough, talented enough, deserving enough, etc. They’re the ones that keep us playing small and safe and unremarkable. And they’re total BS. The good news is, these beliefs are not set in stone. You have the power to change them. You can challenge them by questioning their validity and replacing them with new, empowering beliefs that actually serve you. One way to challenge your limiting beliefs is by getting curious about them. Ask yourself why you believe what you believe. What evidence do you have to support this belief? Is there any evidence to the contrary? Another way is to look for examples of people who have achieved what you want to achieve. If they can do it, why can’t you? And if you’re struggling to come up with new, empowering beliefs, try affirmations. Repeat positive statements to yourself until they sink in and become your new reality. Remember, your beliefs are not the truth. They’re just thoughts that you’ve been thinking for so long that you believe them to be true. But they’re not.
