Find strength in being vulnerable from "summary" of Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

I used to think that vulnerability was a sign of weakness. I believed that showing my true feelings and emotions made me an easy target for judgment and ridicule. It was safer to keep my guard up, to protect myself from the harsh realities of the world. But then I realized that vulnerability is not a weakness, but a strength. It takes courage to be open and honest about our fears and insecurities. It takes strength to show our true selves to the world, to let others see us as we truly are. When we embrace our vulnerability, we become more authentic and genuine. We no longer have to hide behind a mask of perfection, pretending to have it all together. Instead, we can be real and raw, sharing our struggles and imperfections with others. This honesty creates a deeper connection with those around us, allowing us to form more meaningful relationships. By being vulnerable, we also open ourselves up to growth and change. When we are willing to admit our weaknesses and shortcomings, we can learn from our mistakes and make positive changes in our lives. We become more resilient in the face of adversity, knowing that we have the strength to overcome any challenge that comes our way. In a world that often values strength and stoicism, it can be difficult to embrace vulnerability. But by showing our true selves to the world, we can find the courage and resilience to face whatever life throws at us. It is only through our vulnerability that we can truly discover our inner strength and power. So let us embrace our fears and insecurities, and find the strength that comes from being truly and unapologetically ourselves.
