Self-deprecating humor is my go-to coping mechanism when my anxiety is at its peak. When I feel overwhelmed by the weight of the world, I find solace in making fun of myself. It's like a shield I put up to protect myself from the harsh realities of life. By making jokes at my own expense, I am able to take some of the power away from my anxiety. I use humor as a way to lighten the heavy burdens that anxiety brings. It's a way for me to acknowledge my struggles without letting them consume me.
