Letting things be as they are is liberating from "summary" of Wherever You Go, There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn

When we allow things to be as they are, without constantly trying to change or control them, we free ourselves from the burden of always needing to fix or improve everything. This act of acceptance is not a sign of weakness, but rather a display of strength and wisdom. It requires us to let go of our attachment to outcomes and trust in the natural flow of life. By releasing our grip on how things should be, we open ourselves up to a sense of liberation and ease. This practice of letting things be does not mean that we become passive or indifferent to our circumstances. On the contrary, it allows us to approach life with a sense of curiosity and openness. When we stop trying to force things to fit our expectations, we create space for new possibilities to emerge. This attitude of non-judgmental awareness allows us to see things as they truly are, without the distortions of our preconceived notions. In the midst of chaos or difficulty, the ability to let things be can be a source of great peace and clarity. Instead of getting caught up in the drama of our thoughts and emotions, we can simply observe them with a sense of detachment. This mindful perspective allows us to respond to challenges with greater composure and resilience. We realize that we do not have to be at the mercy of our circumstances, but rather can choose how we relate to them in each moment. Letting things be as they are is not about resignation or defeat, but about embracing the present moment with an attitude of acceptance and compassion. It is a radical act of self-love and self-care, allowing us to release the need to control everything and simply be with what is. In this way, we can experience a deep sense of freedom and contentment, no matter what life may bring our way.
