Journey to the future reveals decay of human civilization from "summary" of The Time Machine by H. G. Wells

As I moved forward in time, the world around me began to change. The once bustling cities were now in ruins, covered in dust and debris. The buildings that once stood tall and proud were now nothing but crumbling remnants of a once great civilization. The streets were empty, devoid of life and activity. It was as if the entire human race had simply vanished, leaving behind only the decaying remnants of their existence. As I delved deeper into this future world, I began to see signs of decay everywhere I looked. Nature had taken over, reclaiming the land that had once been dominated by humans. The once vibrant forests were now overgrown and wild, with plants and animals thriving in the absence of their human oppressors. The rivers and streams that once flowed freely were now choked with debris and pollution, their waters stagnant and lifeless. I realized then that the decay of human civilization was not simply a physical one, but a moral and social one as well. The values and beliefs that had once held society together had crumbled away, leaving nothing but chaos and despair in their wake. The inhabitants of this future world had lost their humanity, becoming little more than savage beasts fighting for survival in a world that had turned against them. As I continued my journey through this bleak future, I saw the ultimate fate of humanity laid bare before me. The once proud and mighty race that had conquered the world and reached for the stars was now nothing but a distant memory, a shadow of its former self. It was a sobering realization, a stark reminder of the fragility of civilization and the hubris of man. And so, as I made my way back to my own time, I carried with me the knowledge of what lay ahead if we did not heed the lessons of the past. The decay of human civilization was not inevitable, but it was a very real possibility if we did not take steps to prevent it. The future was not set in stone, but it was up to us to shape it for the betterment of all mankind.
