Ravana, the ten-headed demon king of Lanka, had his sights set on Sita, the virtuous wife of Prince Rama. With a devious plan in mind, Ravana approached Sita in the guise of a holy man, seeking alms. Sita, unaware of Ravana's true identity, innocently stepped out of the safety of her home to offer him food and drink. As Sita handed the disguised Ravana some food, he revealed his true form and forcefully abducted her, flying back to Lanka in his flying chariot.
