Gratitude practices can help shift your focus from lack to abundance from "summary" of The Now Effect by Elisha Goldstein

Practicing gratitude can be a powerful tool in shifting our perspective from one of scarcity to one of abundance. When we focus on what we lack, whether it be material possessions, success, or even love, we perpetuate a sense of emptiness and dissatisfaction. This mindset of scarcity can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, and overall discontent with life. However, by cultivating gratitude through various practices such as keeping a gratitude journal, reflecting on things we are thankful for, or expressing appreciation to others, we can start to train our minds to notice and appreciate the abundance that already exists in our lives. This shift in focus can help us see the blessings and positive aspects that we may have been overlooking. When we practice gratitude, we are essentially rewiring our brains to notice the good instead of fixating on the bad. This shift in perspective can lead to increased feelings of happiness, contentment, and overall well-being. Instead of constantly striving for more and feeling like we never have enough, we can learn to be grateful for what we already have and find joy in the present moment.
  1. We may start to notice a profound shift in our overall outlook on life. We may begin to see opportunities where we once saw obstacles, blessings where we once saw burdens, and abundance where we once saw lack. By embracing gratitude as a way of life, we can cultivate a sense of richness and fulfillment that transcends material possessions and external achievements.
