Dehumanization of workers in industrialized society from "summary" of The Jungle by Upton Sinclair

In the world of industry, workers are nothing more than mere cogs in a machine, their humanity stripped away as they toil day in and day out. They are reduced to simple tasks, their individuality lost amidst the ceaseless noise and chaos of the factory floor. These workers are treated as disposable commodities, easily replaced if they become injured or unable to keep up with the relentless pace of production. Their lives are governed by the whims of their employers, who view them not as people, but as instruments for profit. They are pushed to their limits, forced to work in dangerous conditions for long hours and meager wages. Their bodies become worn down, their spirits crushed under the weight of ceaseless toil. As they struggle to make ends meet, their dreams and aspirations fade into the background, replaced by the harsh reality of their existence. They are caught in a cycle of poverty and despair, with no hope of escape. Their voices are silenced, their grievances ignored by those in power. In this unforgiving environment, compassion and empathy are in short supply. Workers are pitted against each other, forced to compete for scraps while their employers grow rich off their labor. The dehumanization of these workers is complete, their humanity erased in the pursuit of profit. In the eyes of those who hold the reins of power, these workers are nothing more than a means to an end, a disposable workforce to be used and discarded at will. Their suffering is seen as a necessary sacrifice in the name of progress and industrialization. And so, the cycle continues, perpetuating the dehumanization of workers in industrialized society.
