Find a comfortable posture for meditation from "summary" of The Headspace Guide to Meditation and Mindfulness by Andy Puddicombe

When it comes to meditation, finding a comfortable posture is key. The idea is to create a physical environment that allows the mind to settle and be at ease. Now, this doesn't mean you have to contort your body into some complex yoga pose. It simply means finding a position that feels relaxed and sustainable for the duration of your practice. For most people, sitting on a chair or cushion with the back straight and hands resting comfortably in the lap works well. The key is to find a posture that allows you to be alert and attentive, yet relaxed and at ease. You want to strike a balance between being too tense (which can lead to discomfort and distraction) and being too relaxed (which can lead to drowsiness and drifting off).
