Let go of the need for external validation from "summary" of The Habit of Holding on to Past Impressions by Sirshree

When we constantly seek validation from others, we are essentially giving away our power. We become dependent on external sources to feel good about ourselves, which can be a never-ending cycle of seeking approval. This need for validation stems from a lack of self-confidence and self-worth. We believe that we are only valuable if others say so. However, true self-worth comes from within. It is not dependent on what others think or say about us. When we let go of the need for external validation, we free ourselves from the grip of others' opinions. We no longer rely on outside sources to feel good about ourselves. Instead, we learn to trust our own judgment and believe in our own worth. Letting go of the need for external validation also allows us to be true to ourselves. We can make decisions based on what feels right for us, rather than seeking approval from others. We can pursue our passions and dreams without worrying about what others might think. We can be authentic and genuine, living in alignment with our true selves. By releasing the need for external validation, we can experience true freedom and empowerment. We no longer allow others to dictate how we feel about ourselves. We become masters of our own happiness and self-worth. We are no longer at the mercy of others' opinions or judgments. We are free to be ourselves, fully and unapologetically.
  1. Letting go of the need for external validation is a powerful act of self-love and self-acceptance. It is a testament to our own worth and value, independent of others' opinions. It is a declaration that we are enough just as we are. It is a step towards true liberation and empowerment.
