He finds solace in his writing and reflection from "summary" of The Diary of Samuel Pepys by Samuel Pepys

In the solitude of my chamber, I find a refuge from the chaos of the world outside. Here, amidst the dim flicker of the candlelight, I pour my thoughts and emotions onto the blank pages before me. The scratching of my quill against the parchment is a soothing melody that lulls me into a state of tranquility. As I write, I am transported to another realm - a realm where I am free to explore the depths of my soul without fear of judgment or reproach. Through the act of putting pen to paper, I am able to confront my innermost fears and desires, laying bare the inner workings of my mind for my eyes alone. But it is not only in the act of writing that I find solace; it is also in the act of reflection. As I look back on the words I have written, I am able to gain a new perspective on the events that have transpired in my life. I am able to see patterns and connections that were previously hidden from view, allowing me to make sense of the chaos that surrounds me. In this process of self-examination, I am able to find a sense of peace and clarity that eludes me in the tumult of everyday life. Through writing and reflection, I am able to quiet the clamor of the outside world and listen to the still, small voice within me that whispers truths I would otherwise overlook. And so, I continue to write, day after day, night after night. For in the act of writing and reflection, I have found a balm for my weary soul, a sanctuary where I can retreat from the world and find comfort in the words that flow from my pen.
