Utilize structured procrastination to your advantage from "summary" of The Art of Procrastination by John Perry

Structured procrastination is a concept that can be used to our advantage. It involves recognizing that we are procrastinators by nature, and rather than fighting against it, we can work with it. By acknowledging that we have a tendency to put things off, we can use this to our benefit by prioritizing tasks in a way that allows us to be productive while still procrastinating on certain things. This approach involves creating a structured list of tasks, with the most important and urgent tasks at the top, followed by less important but still productive tasks. By working on tasks lower down on the list, we can still be productive while avoiding the tasks at the top that we may be more inclined to procrastinate on. This allows us to make progress on multiple fronts, even if we are not tackling the most pressing issues right away.
  1. But rather about finding a balance between productivity and procrastination. By allowing ourselves to procrastinate on certain tasks, we can actually become more productive overall by channeling our procrastination tendencies into less critical tasks. This can help us to maintain momentum and stay motivated, even when faced with daunting or overwhelming tasks.
