Stop seeking validation from others from "summary" of Summary Of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Onehour Reads

When we seek validation from others, we are essentially giving them power over our emotions and self-worth. We are looking for their approval and acceptance in order to feel good about ourselves. This is a dangerous game to play because we are basing our happiness on external factors that we cannot control. We are allowing others to dictate how we should feel about ourselves, which is a recipe for disaster. It is important to understand that seeking validation from others is a losing battle. No matter how much approval we receive from others, it will never be enough to fill the void within ourselves. We will always be left wanting more, constantly seeking out external sources of validation to feel good about ourselves. This is a never-ending cycle that can lead to feelings of inadequacy, insecurity, and low self-esteem. When we stop seeking validation from others, we take back control of our own happiness and self-worth. We no longer rely on external sources to validate our existence or worthiness. Instead, we learn to validate ourselves from within. We recognize our own value and worth, independent of what others may think or say about us. By focusing on our own internal validation, we free ourselves from the need for external approval. We no longer seek validation from others to feel good about ourselves. We are able to define our own worth and happiness, without relying on others to validate us. When we stop seeking validation from others, we are able to live authentically and true to ourselves. We no longer feel the need to conform to the expectations of others in order to feel accepted or validated. We are able to be who we truly are, without fear of judgment or rejection.
