Prophet John the Baptist's Birth from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets (Peace be upon them) by Imam Imaduddin Isma’il Ibn Kathir
Prophet John the Baptist's birth was a miraculous event that occurred in the city of Jerusalem during the time of King Herod. His parents, Zechariah and Elizabeth, were righteous and devout people who had been blessed with a child in their old age. Zechariah was a Prophet of Allah, and Elizabeth was a pious woman who had longed for a child for many years. One day, while Zechariah was praying in the sanctuary of the temple, the Angel Gabriel appeared to him and informed him that Allah had chosen to give him a son who would be a great Prophet. Zechariah was amazed by this news, as he and his wife were both old and had never been able to conceive a child. Despite his initial disbelief, Zechariah accepted Allah's decree and prayed for a sign to confirm the Angel's words. As a sign of Allah's power, Zechariah was struck mute and unable to speak for three days. During this time, Elizabeth conceived a child, and Zechariah communicated with others through gestures. When the time came for Elizabeth to give birth, she secluded herself in a remote place and waited for the arrival of her son. Prophet John the Baptist was born in seclusion, and his parents were overjoyed by the miracle that had occurred. He was a special child who was blessed with wisdom and guidance from a young age. As he grew older, John dedicated himself to the worship of Allah and the spreading of His message to the people. Prophet John the Baptist's birth was a testament to Allah's power and mercy, and his life was a shining example of faith and devotion. He would go on to become a great Prophet who preached a message of repentance and righteousness to the people, preparing them for the arrival of the final Prophet, Jesus Christ.Similar Posts
