Selfacceptance is about embracing both our strengths and weaknesses from "summary" of Six Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden

Self-acceptance is a fundamental pillar of self-esteem. It is about coming to terms with who we are, both the good and the not-so-good parts. It means recognizing and acknowledging our strengths as well as our weaknesses. This is not about denying or ignoring our flaws, but rather about accepting them as a part of our whole self. When we fully accept ourselves, we are able to embrace all aspects of our being. We do not need to hide or feel ashamed of our imperfections. Instead, we can acknowledge them with compassion and understanding. This does not mean that we stop striving for growth and improvement. It simply means that we accept ourselves as we are right now, imperfections and all. By accepting our strengths, we allow ourselves to shine and celebrate our accomplishments. We can take pride in our abilities and talents without feeling the need to downplay them or seek approval from others. This self-assurance is empowering and allows us to fully express ourselves in all areas of our lives. On the other hand, by accepting our weaknesses, we can learn from them and work on improving ourselves. Instead of feeling ashamed or inadequate, we can approach our weaknesses with curiosity and a growth mindset. We can see them as opportunities for growth and development rather than as reasons to feel unworthy.
  1. Self-acceptance is about embracing the full spectrum of who we are. It is about recognizing that we are imperfect beings, just like everyone else. It is about being kind and compassionate towards ourselves, even when we fall short of our own expectations. When we can accept ourselves completely, we can live authentically and confidently, knowing that we are enough just as we are.
