It has been narrated by Ibn Abbas that the Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: "No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of DhulHijjah)." They (the companions) said: "O Messenger of Allah, not even jihad?" He said: "Not even jihad, except for the one who goes out for jihad with his life and his wealth and does not return with either." This hadith signifies the immense importance and superiority of performing good deeds during the first ten days of DhulHijjah.
