Education was the key to unlocking the chains that bound us. It was not just about attending classes and earning degrees; it was about learning our history, understanding our place in society, and arming ourselves with knowledge to combat oppression. Through education, we could empower ourselves and others to rise up against the system that sought to keep us down. We understood that education was not readily accessible to all. Many of us grew up in impoverished neighborhoods with underfunded schools that failed to adequately prepare us for the challenges ahead.
