Focus on the present moment from "summary" of Quiet Mind by John Coleman

The present moment is where life unfolds, where reality truly exists. It is the only moment we have any control over, the only moment we can truly experience. When we focus on the present moment, we let go of worries about the past and anxieties about the future. We are able to fully immerse ourselves in what is happening right now, without distractions or preoccupations. By focusing on the present moment, we are able to appreciate the beauty and wonder of the world around us. We can notice the intricate details of a flower, the sound of birds chirping, the warmth of the sun on our skin. We become more attuned to our senses, more connected to the world and the people around us. When we are fully present in the moment, we are able to respond to situations with clarity and wisdom. We are not clouded by past regrets or future fears, but are able to make decisions based on what is happening right now. We can listen more attentively, speak more mindfully, and act more intentionally. Focusing on the present moment also allows us to let go of stress and tension. We are not weighed down by thoughts of what has already happened or what might happen in the future. Instead, we are able to be fully present with our emotions, acknowledging them without judgment and allowing them to pass through us. In a world that is constantly moving and changing, it can be easy to get caught up in the chaos and lose sight of the present moment. But by cultivating a practice of mindfulness and presence, we can learn to anchor ourselves in the here and now. We can find peace and contentment in the simplicity of just being, without the need for anything more.
