The relationship between employers and employees in the workplace is often characterized by a power dynamic that resembles that of a government ruling over its citizens. This analogy is particularly apt when considering the ways in which employers exercise authority over their workers' lives both within and outside of the workplace. Just as a government can dictate the terms of its citizens' lives through laws and regulations, employers have the ability to control many aspects of their employees' behavior, from what they wear to how they spend their free time. This power imbalance has profound implications for workers' dignity and autonomy. When individuals are subject to the whims of their employers in such a comprehensive manner, it undermines their sense of self-worth and agency.
