Withdrawal symptoms are the result of the brain's attempt to restore balance. When we introduce drugs into our system, we are essentially throwing off the delicate equilibrium that our brain works so hard to maintain. The brain is constantly adjusting its chemical composition to ensure everything is functioning smoothly. However, when drugs enter the picture, this balance is disrupted. As the brain adapts to the presence of drugs, it starts to make adjustments to counteract their effects. For example, if someone regularly consumes alcohol, the brain may reduce the production of certain neurotransmitters to compensate for the increased levels caused by the alcohol. This is known as tolerance. The brain essentially becomes accustomed to the presence of the drug and learns to function in its presence.
