Use privilege to uplift those without a platform from "summary" of My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem

As we journey through life, we inevitably come across people who may not have the same opportunities or platforms as we do. It is our responsibility to use our privilege to uplift those individuals and amplify their voices. This act of solidarity is not about pity or charity, but rather about recognizing the inherent worth and value of every human being. When we use our privilege in this way, we are able to create a more just and equitable society for all. By leveraging our access to resources, networks, and platforms, we can help those who have been marginalized or silenced to be heard and seen. This is not just a moral imperative, but a practical one as well - when everyone has the opportunity to thrive, our communities and societies as a whole benefit. Throughout my own journey, I have seen the power of using privilege to uplift others. Whether it is through mentorship, advocacy, or simply being a supportive presence, we all have the ability to make a positive impact in the lives of those around us. This is not about being a savior or a hero, but rather about being a true ally and accomplice in the fight for justice and equality. It is important to remember that using privilege to uplift others is not a one-time act, but a continuous commitment. We must constantly be aware of our own privilege and be willing to challenge the systems and structures that perpetuate inequality. By standing in solidarity with those who are marginalized, we can create a more inclusive and compassionate world for all.
