Resistance to change can often feel like an immovable force, holding us back from growth and progress. It can be frustrating, confusing, and even infuriating at times. We may find ourselves wondering why we can't seem to make the changes we know we need to make. The truth is, resistance to change is a complex and deeply ingrained phenomenon that is not easily overcome. One of the key insights from our work is that resistance to change is often rooted in fear. This fear may be conscious or unconscious, rational or irrational, but it is always present in some form. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of loss, fear of rejection – these are just a few of the many fears that can hold us back from embracing change. When we resist change, we are essentially trying to protect ourselves from perceived threats.
