Embracing blackness means holding onto the truth that the way I am made, the color of my skin, the texture of my hair, the shape of my nose, the fullness of my lips, the breadth of my hips, the curl of my fists, the sway of my hips, is beautiful. It means rejecting the lie that whiteness is supreme. It means acknowledging that blackness is a gift from God, something to be celebrated and cherished.
