Embracing selfhelp books from "summary" of Help me ! by Marianne Power

I devoured self-help books like they were going out of fashion. It was the ultimate form of procrastination. It felt like I was doing something good for myself, even though I wasn't actually doing anything at all. But I was starting to see that reading alone wasn't going to change my life. I needed to take action. I was stuck in a cycle of reading instead of doing. Embracing self-help books was my way of avoiding the real work. I thought that if I read enough books, I would eventually stumble upon the perfect solution to all my problems. But I was missing the point. The real work comes after you put the book down.
