Following classroom rules from "summary" of First Grade, Here I Come! by Tony Johnston
In first grade, we learn all about following classroom rules. These rules are very important because they help us stay safe and focused on our learning. When we follow the rules, everything runs smoothly and we can have a fun and productive day at school. One of the most important rules in the classroom is to listen to the teacher. The teacher is there to help us learn and grow, so it's important to pay attention when they are speaking. When we listen to the teacher, we show them respect and we also show respect to our classmates. Another important rule is to raise our hand when we want to speak. This helps us take turns and makes sure that everyone has a chance to share their thoughts and ideas. When we raise our hand, we show that we are being polite and respectful to others. It's also important to follow directions. Whether it's lining up quietly or putting away our supplies, following directions shows that we are responsible and can be trusted to do the right thing. When we follow directions, we help keep the classroom running smoothly. In first grade, we also learn about being kind to others. This means sharing, using kind words, and helping our classmates when they need it. When we are kind to others, we create a positive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Following classroom rules may seem simple, but it's an important skill that will help us succeed not only in first grade but in the years to come. By listening, raising our hand, following directions, and being kind, we can create a classroom where everyone can learn and grow together.Similar Posts
