Group dynamics are greatly influenced by the contagious nature of emotions. When one person in a group experiences a certain emotion, it can quickly spread to others, creating a ripple effect that impacts the overall atmosphere and interactions within the group. This phenomenon is known as emotional contagion, where emotions are unconsciously transferred from one person to another through nonverbal cues such as facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language. For example, if a member of a team expresses frustration or anxiety, others in the group may begin to feel the same way without even realizing why. This can lead to a negative feedback loop where everyone's emotions feed off each other, creating a tense and unproductive environment.
