Letting go of attachments leads to freedom from suffering from "summary" of Eckhart Tolle's the Power of Now Summary by Ant Hive Media

Attachment to things, people, and situations is what causes suffering in our lives. When we are attached to something, we create a sense of dependency on it for our happiness and well-being. This attachment leads to fear of losing what we are attached to, which in turn causes stress and anxiety. We become trapped in a cycle of desire and fear, constantly seeking to hold on to what we have and avoid losing it. When we let go of these attachments, we free ourselves from this cycle of suffering. We no longer rely on external factors for our happiness and peace of mind. Instead, we find a sense of inner peace and contentment that is not dependent on anything outside of ourselves. We can appreciate things for what they are in the present moment, without needing to possess or control them. By releasing our attachments, we open ourselves up to the flow of life. We allow things to come and go without resistance, knowing that our true nature is eternal and unchanging. We stop trying to hold on to the past or control the future, and instead embrace the present moment with acceptance and gratitude. Letting go of attachments does not mean that we become indifferent or apathetic. It simply means that we no longer cling to things in a way that causes suffering. We can still enjoy the beauty of life and form meaningful connections with others, but we do so with a sense of detachment and freedom. In this state of non-attachment, we are able to experience true freedom and liberation from the constraints of our own minds. We are no longer slaves to our desires and fears, but instead, we are able to live in the present moment with clarity and awareness. By letting go of attachments, we open ourselves up to a life of joy, peace, and fulfillment.
