Greg's mom nags him from "summary" of Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #1) by Jeff Kinney

Greg's mom is always on my case. She's always telling me what to do, and it drives me crazy. It's like she's got this radar or something that tells her whenever I'm about to have fun, and then she shows up and ruins everything. One time, I was just trying to enjoy a nice piece of cake, and she started lecturing me about how I needed to eat more vegetables. I mean, seriously? Can't a guy just enjoy his dessert in peace? And don't even get me started on chores. She's always coming up with new things for me to do around the house. It's like she thinks I'm her personal maid or something. I swear, if she could find a way to make me clean the ceiling, she would. And the worst part is, she never even says please or thank you. It's always just, "Greg, do this" or "Greg, do that." It's like she's forgotten that I have feelings too. But the thing that really gets me is when she starts in on me about school. She's always on my back about my grades, even though I try my best. It's like she doesn't even care that I'm doing my homework and studying for tests. She just sees a B on my report card and acts like the world is ending. I swear, if I have to hear her say, "Greg, you need to apply yourself more" one more time, I'm going to scream. I know she's just trying to look out for me and make sure I grow up to be a responsible adult or whatever, but sometimes it feels like she's just nagging me for the sake of it. I wish she could see that I'm not a little kid anymore and that I can take care of myself. But until then, I guess I'll just have to put up with it.
