Trust is built in small moments from "summary" of Daring Greatly by Brene Brown

In our lives, trust is not built through big, grand gestures or extravagant displays of affection. Rather, it is the small, everyday moments that truly lay the foundation for trust to grow and flourish. These small moments may seem insignificant at first glance, but they are the building blocks of strong, lasting relationships. When we consistently show up for someone in small ways, we are demonstrating our commitment and reliability. It is in these moments of reliability that trust is nurtured and strengthened. For example, being there to listen when someone needs to talk, or following through on promises, no matter how small, shows that we are dependable and trustworthy. Trust is also built through vulnerability and authenticity. When we are willing to be open and honest with others, even when it is uncomfortable or difficult, we are showing that we trust them enough to share our true selves. This vulnerability creates a space for deeper connection and understanding to grow, leading to greater trust between individuals. Furthermore, trust is a two-way street. It requires both parties to show up consistently and authentically in order to truly flourish. When both individuals are willing to be vulnerable and reliable with each other, trust can deepen and strengthen over time.
  1. Trust is not something that can be demanded or forced. It is a delicate and fragile thing that must be nurtured and cared for in order to thrive. By showing up for others in small, meaningful ways, being vulnerable and authentic, and creating a space for trust to grow, we can cultivate strong and lasting relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
