The ultimate goal of life from "summary" of Bhagavad-Gita As It Is by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

The ultimate goal of life is to reestablish our lost relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna. This relationship is eternal and exists beyond our current material existence. By engaging in devotional service to Krishna, we can gradually revive this loving connection and attain true fulfillment and happiness. This process involves purifying our consciousness and transcending the material modes of nature through acts of devotion, knowledge, and renunciation. Through the practice of bhakti yoga, or the yoga of devotion, we can cultivate a deep sense of love and attachment to Krishna. By offering our thoughts, words, and actions in service to Him, we can purify our hearts and minds and come closer to the ultimate goal of life. This loving exchange with Krishna brings immense joy and satisfaction, far surpassing any material pleasure or achievement. As we progress on the path of bhakti, we gradually develop a deeper understanding of our true identity as spiritual beings, distinct from our material bodies. This realization helps us transcend the dualities of this world and experience a higher state of consciousness. By focusing our minds and hearts on Krishna, we can gradually detach ourselves from the temporary pleasures and pains of material existence and connect with the eternal bliss of the spiritual realm.
