Healing begins when we allow ourselves to feel and process our emotions from "summary" of Atlas of the Heart by Brené Brown
When we experience difficult emotions, our instinct might be to push them away or ignore them in the hopes that they will disappear on their own. However, the truth is that healing cannot begin until we allow ourselves to acknowledge and process these emotions. Emotions are a natural part of being human, and trying to suppress them only leads to more pain and suffering in the long run. By allowing ourselves to feel and sit with our emotions, we give ourselves the opportunity to understand and make sense of them. This process of emotional exploration is not easy, and it often requires us to confront uncomfortable truths about ourselves and our experiences. But it is only through this process that we can begin to heal and move forward in a more authentic and meaningful way. When we allow ourselves to feel and process our emotions, we open ourselves up to the possibility of growth and transformation. Emotions are powerful teachers, and they have the ability to show us where we need to focus our attention and energy in order to heal and become more whole. By embracing our emotions rather than running from them, we can learn valuable lessons about ourselves and our relationships with others.- And there will be ups and downs along the way. But by staying true to ourselves and our emotions, we can navigate these challenges with greater resilience and self-compassion. Ultimately, the path to healing begins with a willingness to feel and process our emotions, no matter how difficult or painful they may be.
