Manipulation of the truth from "summary" of Animal Farm and 1984 by George Orwell
The art of manipulating the truth is a skill that is mastered by those in power in both Animal Farm and 1984. In Animal Farm, the pigs use propaganda to twist the truth in their favor, convincing the other animals that they are working in their best interests. By controlling the information that the other animals receive, the pigs are able to maintain their power and authority over the farm. Similarly, in 1984, the Party controls every aspect of the truth, rewriting history to suit their needs and manipulating the minds of the citizens through the use of Newspeak and doublethink.
