The idea of standing up against oppressive rule is a recurring theme in both Animal Farm and 1984. In Animal Farm, the animals rebel against the tyrannical human farmer, Mr. Jones, in order to create a society where all animals are equal. However, as time goes on, the pigs, who were at the forefront of the rebellion, begin to adopt the same corrupt and oppressive tactics as their human oppressor.
