Clay receives a set of tapes from Hannah Baker from "summary" of 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher
When those tapes arrived at my house, I had no idea what they were or who they were from. They were just in a shoebox on my porch, waiting for me to press play. I couldn't stop listening, couldn't turn away from the truth that Hannah had laid bare for me. In the end, those tapes changed me. They made me see the world in a different light, made me realize the impact that our words and actions can have on others. I knew that I had to do something, had to make things right in whatever way I could. And so I followed Hannah's instructions, tracing her steps through the town, trying to find some kind of redemption in the wake of her tragedy.
