In the quiet moments between us, when we feel the weight of our unspoken truths pressing in, it's easy to see how secrets can wedge themselves between two people. They fester and grow in the silence, twisting and distorting until they become a barrier too high to climb. We may think we're protecting each other by keeping these secrets buried deep within us, but in reality, we're only driving each other further apart. As the days pass, the distance between us grows, our smiles becoming strained and our conversations superficial. We tiptoe around the elephant in the room, pretending that everything is fine when we both know it's not. The longer we keep these secrets hidden, the more they threaten to unravel the fragile threads holding us together.
